Welcome to our Nursery page

Welcome to our Nursery page

Thank you

The Nursery team wants to say a great big thank you to all our families for coming to see us for the ‘Stay and Play’ session and helping us to settle the children in. It has been lovely to see the children playing, making friends and learning their new routines. Thank you for remembering to come at the right time, wear a face mask and bring a change of clothes and water bottle for your child. Please remember to put names on everything that comes to Nursery!

Tapestry

Thank you for signing up for Tapestry. There is now a very helpful video on the school website to help you learn how to use it.

Tapestry - how to access and use

We are working hard to ensure that we have posted photos and videos of all the children as soon as possible and regularly after that. We love it when you send us comments and pictures back of your children.

Learning

Our main focus this half term is helping your child settle and enjoy Nursery. We are helping them explore, make friends, learn the routines and develop their listening and communication skills. Our themes throughout the year are based on the seasons, nature, festivals and books. This term we are learning about the signs of Autumn and celebrating the Harvest Festival. Our books will be Owl Babies, Goldilocks, Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Handa’s Surprise.

Family Photo

Each child in our Nursery has their own special board to celebrate their learning. We would love it if you could send us a family photo to put on their board. About half a size of A4 paper or smaller would be great! Please print it out and bring one in or email it to admin@burlingtoni.org.uk

Bring a Plant to School

Over the summer we have been busy making the Nursery look amazing! We aim to make our Nursery as green as possible by growing lots of plants and using wooden and other natural materials.   If your child would like to bring in an indoor or outdoor plant to school to look after please do so! If it is an indoor plant, please can you ensure it has a pot that doesn’t leak.

Can you help?

We are looking for a handy person to come and help fix some small sheds together for Nursery. We have bought the kits and have one willing helper but he needs a hand!  It needs to be during the school day please. Please talk to a member of staff if you can help.

Donations

Do you have any good quality wooden toys or natural resources you would like to donate to Nursery? If anyone has a spare bird feeder, bird table or wind chimes they would be gratefully received.

Books

Stories are a very important part of your child’s life and learning. Your child is welcome to borrow a book from Nursery but because of  Covid-19 they can only be borrowed on a Monday and returned on a Friday. This is so they can be quarantined over the weekend. If you would like your child to borrow a book please bring in a Burlington Infant and Nursery School blue book bag on a Monday and we will help them choose a book. You can buy a Burlington Book bag from PMG Schoolwear. https://www.pmgschoolwear.co.uk/
