An update from Mrs Yay Walker

Happy New Year Burlington families!

What a start to the new year!! I hope you have all had a peaceful break. Thank you to all the parents who have kindly emailed in to wish us well and offer their full support. Your words were so encouraging!

This is not the start that any of us had hoped for, but we are very grateful for your support and understanding at such a difficult time. For those of you whose children are at home, thank you for engaging with home learning. We appreciate that it is a real challenge for many who are working from home and juggling their time supporting children with school work. Please do not feel that you have to complete everything each day if you are struggling – try to do what you can. The yellow highlighted activities on the suggested timetables from next week are the ones that we would like you to submit work for. Please submit the work as soon as you have completed it, so that teachers can respond over the week. We have had some lovely pieces of work, and would encourage anyone who has not yet started to please make a big effort to do so, and get started with the home learning. With so much uncertainty around school closures, it is important that we do everything we can to keep the learning going. We will be sending out a survey to see how you are finding the home learning early next week. Please do share your views, we are always keen to improve. If you have any personal comments, concerns or need help in any way, please do email the school office on: admin@burlingtoni.org.uk.

To all our critical workers, thank you! We are so very grateful for the role that you are playing in the COVID response. The children in our keyworker provision have settled well into their new ‘bubbles’ and we are doing our best to make the environment as ‘normal’ as we can for them. Please do complete the survey as well, we would like to know how you are finding the provision and learning.

Thank you all and warmest wishes,
Mrs Yay-Walker
