Nursery update on Autumn 1

Nursery update on Autumn 1

What an enjoyable and exciting half term we have had in Nursery! For most of our children, this has been their first experience of school and we are very proud of how well the children have settled into Nursery. It was lovely to meet parents in our Stay and Play sessions in September and get to know the children and their families. All the children now have their own board where they have displayed their family photos and pictures or things they are proud of.  We have been learning new routines and how to care for our beautiful Nursery. Key to this was when each child brought in their own plant to care for. We are now experts at watering plants! Outside our Nursery garden is blooming with new plants and the children have been watching our beans and lettuces grow and enjoying looking at, smelling and touching all the flowers and herbs.

We have gone book mad in Nursery, with baskets of books in all areas and we are pleased to see how much the children love and engage in stories. Many children have been taking books home to read and enjoy with their families. The children loved joining in with Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Beanstalk as well as Monkey Puzzle to name a few. Thank you to parents for sending in food for the Harvest Festival. The children enjoyed learning and talking about different foods. We hope parents have enjoyed the photos and comments on Tapestry this term. We have really enjoyed seeing your responses and photos of what you have been up to out of school.
