On Thursday, the children celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day). They took part in a variety of fun and engaging activities that brought history to life! Nursery children got to make jam sandwiches for their own tea party, reception children made butter from scratch for their tea party sandwiches as well as making spitfire planes using toilet rolls while year 1 & year 2 made their own medals and spitfire planes as well as enjoying a tea party of course! We also joined forces with the junior school for a fabulous sing song of 'We'll Meet Again', 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' and 'I can see a Rainbow'. A special well done to our nursery children who bravely sang in front of year 4 and year 6 children! The whole day was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore the significance of VE Day in an interactive and memorable way, enriching their sense of community and appreciation for history.
