Next Friday 13th September at 2pm is the AGM for the BSA. This is usually a round-up of our activity over the past twelve months, including the events and fundraising that have taken place and the financial report.
It’s also an opportunity to elect new members to the BSA committee. This year, our Chair, Treasurer and Secretary are all stepping down, and it’s crucial that we find people to fill these roles as without a committee the charity will fold and all the important work that the BSA does will cease. Without the BSA there will be no discos, no fairs, no cake sales - and also no extra money to fund all those extra fun activities that take place in school times and that so enrich our children’s school lives. In the last academic year the BSA raised over £25,000 for the schools.
Anyone can get involved - some former committee members have been stay at home parents whilst others have had full-time jobs. Some have had one child and others have had multiple. Some parents have been involved from the moment their child starts nursery, and others have waited until their child is in the Juniors. There really is no right or wrong person for the BSA and it is never too soon or too late to get involved - all it takes is a willingness to help and a desire to give something back to the school community.
No matter what your situation, please do consider joining us. As always, we are welcoming new volunteers at every level, but we especially need the committee positions to be filled if we are to continue. The BSA cannot exist without you!
Thank you
